I'm not impressed, I wanted 15.
HH, Roenick stated something similiar, he thinks the Flyers woke up a sleeping giant, especially allowing 10 goals. He said it's giving Pittsburgh Confidence.

By the way, maybe they ought to keep some guys out of the lineup for Friday. Apparently this team can only function when it's missing some of its parts.

Let the Flyers do what the Flyers do. Then take advantage when they do it. And they will.
Think Mario needs to talk to Shanny and make sure Zac Rinaldo is available for Friday, for starters.

7 defensemen the rest of the way. I think that is a good start.

Grossman might be concussed - apparently on a hit by Kennedy (don't recall it).

As long as one of those 7 isn't Martin.

I could see a concussion from that hit.

Same here Shaf...(yes ShaF) such I gigantic hill to climb, but I went from wanting to get this over with at 8am today, to just wanting another game to watch, to going nuts like it was game 7. I'm back in this B.

Been watching hockey since 73 or so. This is the strangest series I've ever seen. Hope the strangeness continues for 3 more games.

This is the kind of thing I thought could make an impact on this series. The Pens needed to get to Bryzgalov to the point that it created a goalie controversy in Philly. Unfortunately they let Bryzgalov off the hook until now. He's been bad all series but it didn't matter at the rate the Pens were giving up goals. I'd imagine that at this point, Philly doesn't want to create any controversy. They'll go back to Bryzgalov and hope the Pens shoot themselves in the foot again like they did in games 1-3 and in the early part of the first tonight. You have to figure it's going to be goaltending that holds Philly back again, whether the improbable happens in this round or more likely later in the playoffs.

Yeah. It's at least nice to feel good about something in this series. I just wish they hadn't gotten themselves in this hole. I think if the Pens can take game five, then things might really start falling into place for them but it's going to be very tough. Philly is a good team and you figure they're going to come out with a strong performance Friday. I hope all this scoring doesn't reinforce in the Pens' minds that playing run and gun is the way to go for them.

Feels really nice to get a win. I really think having some young blood in the line-up (Tangradi, Strait, Despres) really helped out. I'm not sure why, but it seemed that they were just...better. I thought they were cooked when they took 4 penalties in less than 2.3 seconds but Philadelphia would not be outdone in that regard.

That was pretty fun to watch, but I will not yet allow myself to get emotionally pulled in, unless this goes to 7.
Too much heartbreak in the last week.

Yeah 3-1 is still a tall hill to climb. On the bright side, we have a 40 goal scorer coming back into the lineup. Hopefully Fleury and the defense plays like it did the last two periods of this game. Like everybody else said, if we can keep it 5 on 5 with them, we're very competitive.

How often does a team score three power play goals in the first period, and lose by seven goals?
I've been shocked after every game of this series lol...

In that context, your "since 1973" comment makes a lot of sense.

Despres looked good tonight. I can't believe Strait and Lovejoy have been ahead of him on the organizational depth chart all year.

Same. I emotionally detached after game 3 and really haven't let myself cheer or celebrate a goal or a lead since game 2. I sit in silence after we score just waiting for the Flyers to answer. Usually I got bonkers after each goal and live/die with every shot on goal.
To think if Staal's shot in Game 1 goes in, instead of hitting the post, we win that game and the series is 2-2 right now and we'd feel amazing.
I will try to stay emotionally detached on Friday in order to avoid the heartbreak. Wont celebrate if we score first or are ahead in the 2nd period. I've already mentally prepared to lose this series and came to terms with it. I'm at peace with having the season end. Win on Friday though and I will go crazy, expecting to win the series, and will be right back to where I was prior to game 1.
