It should only be so easy to look at the UFA Defenseman list and see what team could be losing a marketable player and plug Martin in that slot, provided you think he would go willingly, and you wish for him to leave. Also, considering Josh Gorges' pay went from 2.5M per year to 3.9M, maybe Martin isn't overpaid?

Why would you downgrade on D when it's our biggest problem?
Only guy that I would even remotely consider looking at there is Gleason. Jackman and Stuart? No way.
