I no everyone is in love with the 3 center model, but it has been sucessful for the Penguins for only two seasons in the playoffs and one resulted in a Stanley Cup, if the Pens can get a winger for sid and a shut down defensemen they will be better off going into next season. just my opinion is you move Staal and try to attach Martin in the deal for a winger/defense-men and try to sign whatever one you didn't get in the Staal/martin deal.

Why would the Blackhawks do this?
They counter with Niklas Hjalmarsson for Kris Letang, maybe they'll try to attach Rostislav Olesz to it.

If you are trading for any Kane, I'd rather go after Evander. Production is similar to Patrick - better actually the past season or so - and the kid is nasty to play against. He's been really hard competition every time he plays Pittsburgh.

He's basing it off the rumor that the Hawks are fed up with Kane's antics. Personally, even if this were available, I honestly wouldn't do it even if the salary swap were relatively equal...which it's not.

Kane makes 6 mil per that is a little high but he would look awesome on Sid's wing and that salary is probably what Staal is going to ask for or more.

I'm personally not very enamoured with Patty Kane...if he weren't such a POS off the ice, I might like him better.

He'd become the NHL equivalent of Jeff Reed here.

Let's pretend this thread is about Evander...and figure out a way to get it done.

I want the Pens to have nothing to do with Patrick Kane. As irritated as I've become with some aspects of the team's country club atmosphere, we at least have guys that keep their noses clean, or at least keep it out of the public and aren't making fools of themselves the way he does. If he's causing problems in Chicago, which I consider a decent city and decent hockey club -- I don't see how it would be any better with Pittsburgh and the Pens. No thanks.

Rather have Staal for 6 mil than Kane for 6 mil.

I wouldn't touch P Kane with a 10 foot pole. I'd choke the **** out of him though.
