I wonder if Sid is at Staal's wedding reception, *#&%-faced and calling Parise on his cellphone to come to the Pens.

Has it been mentioned that Parise and Suter are decent buddies off the ice? Trade Martin for a pack of sugarbabies right now, sign them both.

Not to mention, there's already a well-known American on the defense, who Suter actually mentioned as an inspiration during the Olympics...

They'll probably try to sign him, but I really doubt he ends up in pittsburgh. It's nice to dream, though.

Man, I'd have a heart attack if Parise signs with the Pens...but in a good way.

Sign Parise and Suter on the 4th of July. Have a 'Merica movement for the Pens.

Mikey, in your opinion, what are the odds of Parise signning with the Pens?

It'd be disingenuous to put a number on it without any knowledge. Right now, Zach is contracted to another NHL team. So, that'll be the situation until July 1 unless Zach comes out himself and declares his intentions. After July 1, I might be able to provide a better idea. I can speculate that we'll make a hard charge. I can speculate that Sid will try to attract his former Shattuck St. Mary's buddy over here. But I can't make odds on this. You're gonna have 30 teams that want Zach Parise. So...1 in 30? Sorry I can't be of more help... ¯\_(°º)_/¯
Just strictly independent of everything: "above average" would be my gut.

Understandable. I didn't know if you had anything gathered since being in the NJ market.

I know Jul 1 is gonna be an interesting day one way or another.

I'd be interested in signing Semin as well. At least you know he is open to signing short-term deals. Parise would be a long and expensive contract.
