It's my belief that Ales Hemsky is heavily in play today on the trade front. #TSN

Too injury-prone, not particularly young, not a finisher, not physical enough.

I hope Krafster doesn't see this thread. It might actually break his heart.

If this was Hemsky's last year on his contract, I'd say do it. Other than that, HELL NO

I wouldn't go Martin straight up for Hemsky. He is utterly worthless. I would puke if he came to the Pens.

I would like to see Pens kick tires on Gagner trade including Martin and ?
Pens may whiff out on any thing free agent related ,unless one feels Tanner Glass and Dylan Reese can
take you to the promised land.

I'm gonna pick on it because you keep saying it. Just because you've never heard of Tanner Glass doesn't make him bad. Would you prefer the Pens have no organizational depth? Get a gun, go to the Parise compound and open fire until he signs? He didn't decide yet, in the meantime, Shero is improving the organizational depth. The NHL roster is largely intact contract wise, so he's waiting on one or two guys, so in the meantime he's not missing out on his other targets and the AHL club just lost a lot of veterans and could use help so Holzapfel, Reese, Zatkoff, etc. get brought in because WBS relies on the Penguins for most of its players...gotta think. Just gotta think big picture. Think.

Yeah, I don't get this. Glass seems like a definite upgrade over Asham for a team that wasn't nearly tough enough to play against last year. Improving the checking lines is a major need for them.

I am hoping the Sens give Shero a call on Martin. They need D and we need to shed Martin.

Supposedly the conversation already happened but Murray won't deal unless we take back a similar contract.

We really don't unless they can replace him. I'm not a Martin fan by any means, but you don't go into the season with Letang/Orpik/Niskanen/Despres/Engelland/Lovejoy/Bortuzzo as your defensemen and expect big things.
