Beau Bennett is going to be a 40-goal scoring winger. There. I've given the ying to your yang.

I will argue it, but not in a way that you will like haha. I don't think he's going to be a bust because I think you need high expectations in order for that to happen. I really don't think there have been any major expectations of Bennett. Anytime his future has been discussed, it's really been more of he could develop into a top-six guy or possibly a solid third line winger. I've never heard anyone say he's the next big thing.

Godric, I'll bite.

For starters, he does things with the puck that you can't teach. His dekes are the kind that make your head snap and I've seen him score one timer goals from along the wall near the circle that would get you out of your seat in no time. Offensively, there just isn't anyone like him in our system. Don't forget that he played with a great center in the BCHL in Denver Manderson. Now, Manderson hasn't developed into squat, but in their time together, Bennett reaped the benefits of playing with a BCHL star center. Now think about that for a second. That's all we have here in Pittsburgh. Let me lead into that with another comment.

My biggest concern about Bennett was size and battling through checks along the wall. He had a bit of east/west in his game. I was the one that made the roller hockey comment. That's how he learned how to play the game I think the remnants of that were still prevalent in his game at the NCAA level. He's added an absolute ton of muscle and has bulked up in a big way. Physicality is still is main obstacle but he's show a willingness to at least give it 100%.

Now, that being said, when you play with a guy like a Crosby or a Malkin, the main focus of the defensive assignments are going to go to them. The more space Bennett has, the more opportunity he has to rip the puck or dangle to the net. I'm less worried about him now given the fact that he's bulked up, had academic success, and has a great drive to succeed. Offensively, from a forward perspective, he's the best option we have to play in the top 6.

Maybe the mat that he's jumping from is electrically charged and it actually shot him 43" into the air?

Bennett only had 16 non-PP goals in his last BCHL season (56 games). In the NCAA he only had 13 goals in 47 career games. Can this guy actually score at even strength at the pro level? He seems like just a PP specialist. Adding 30 lbs isn't going to help his skating development much either, which is where he needed his most work. How is he going to survive along the boards if he is shy from contact? He has a long way to go.

He put on 27 pounds of muscle.

He is from Cali.

Hopefully he's willing to play a year in the AHL, but I can easily seem him getting a shot. What he does with it depends on who he plays (players and line) and who they play against.

Just a bunch of misc. Twitter stuff...

‏@LGP_netwolf
Let the snipe show begin. Again. RT @PensNation_Andy: ‪#UherWatch‬ is back on, you guys.

@joelperetic
Dominik Uher might have the best wrist shot of any ‪#Pens‬ prospect. Hard, accurate and shoots well on the move---an underrated attribute.

@LGP_netwolf
Beau Bennett with a sick toe drag around a fallen goalie, roofs it under the bar.

LGP_netwolf
Kenny Agostino dug a puck out of his feet w/ his back to the net and slid it between his legs and the goalie's. Great hands.

IanAltenbaugh
Sundqvist looking impressive. Kid is huge, has a ton of room to fill out.

@IanAltenbaugh
Blueger is really impressive. Really under the radar pick. Has good size at 18 already.

@IanAltenbaugh
Adam Payerl has been seriously impressive. Not the greatest hands but really drives to the net hard. Awesome size.

@IanAltenbaugh
Archibald absolutedly school harrington. Archibald has amazing wheels.

@PensNation_Andy
Zach Sill gets around Derrick Pouliot and scores in the one-on-one drill

@PensNation_Andy
Josh Archibald has been dominating in these drills. Showing a lot of speed

@IanAltenbaugh
Dump and chase drills. Zlobin just got CRUSHED by McNeill

@IanAltenbaugh
McNeill has shown his experience so far in one-on-ones. Making good reads. taking opponents out of play with positioning.

@IanAltenbaugh
Zach sill is looking nifty. Making soccer move to keep puck alive.

IanAltenbaugh
Nice stick work by pouliot in scrimmage

@IanAltenbaugh
Murray letting in a leaky goal after some stellar play.

‏@IanAltenbaugh
Agostino has been really stellar. Very active around the puck. good at controlling the biscuit, holding guys off. doesn't give up on plays

‏@LGP_netwolf
Agostino is very good at using his body to protect the puck, even against bigger guys.

@IanAltenbaugh
Not like Joey Morrow or Scott Harrington last year. Pouliot is getting outmuscled a lot. Guys are bigger & stronger
