I saw this from Jesse Spector:
http://specmotorin.tumblr.com/post/27973944493/project-quallsI thought it might be an interesting thread topic for the summer. It may have been done before, but lets give it a try anyway.
My pick is Tom Barrasso. The guy couldn't stop a puck from the blue line to save his life, was a miserable guy with the media, and had a non-hockey injury that occurred in an interesting way. I know he won two Cups, but I just never liked the guy.

I couldn't stand Josef Beranek. But Billy Tibbetts was probably the worst.

Having a hard time choosing between Peter Popovic and Ian Moran.

Ron Stackhouse. Or, as we would scream at him during the games "S**t-house", as in "way to avoid that check there S**t-house!". A rare combination of being a total wuss and slow as mud. Basically Paul Martin 25 years ago.

I didn't really get to watch much games until after the lockout (But dad! Everybody else got cable! *whine*) so Barrasso did stand out a bit in those years when all I did was read about the Pens, but I'd say Hossa. If were not talking outside the rink conduct I'd go with Kennedy, so frustrating some times when he misses the goal entirely

Jeff Taffe, but that is by no means grounded in logic.
Followed closely by Lady Gogo

john leclair and palffy were total misplaced penguins. I couldn't embrace leclair as a penguin and palffy quit on the team. Also, Ville Neimenen and n baumgartner/mikail samuellson.

That's not being fair to Paul Martin. Martin is good at making outlet passes; Stackhouse was terrible at it. A big guy who wouldn't harm a flea. Plus he looked like a goof. His one and only redeeming quality was that he had a pretty good shot.
Jagr would definitely be up there for most hated non-Penguin, for the simple reason that he was one of the most loved Penguins.

LeClair certainly didn't help himself when he KO'ed Malkin in the preseason.

My most hated Penguins of all time... Dick Tanrstrom, he was the softest player i have ever seen. I never seen a player go so far out of his way to avoid a check. I swear he could play an enitre game and never touch the boards.

Not seeing a resounding Melichar chant in here. if this question was asked in 2006, there would be one reply and 17 agrees, this', +1's, etc.

Doug "So Soff" Shedden
Billy Tibbetts a close second but he wasn't really around that long
Dan Quinn could really annoy me too on the nights he just decided to not show up

I was at that pre-season game in Moncton, New Brunswick when Leclair collided with Malkin, and I can say LeClair was up there for me on the hate list as a former Flyer.
Some other guys I could not come to cheer for:
Jimmy Mann (just a thug)
Mike Comrie
