Really?? He has one of the better rags to riches story of any NHL goalie.
Not really sure why I threw him in there TBH, I was on a tangent.
You almost become my first foe'd person for hating on Skudra.

Garry Valk. Hated him as a Penguin, despised him for his game six performance with Toronto in the 1999 playoffs.
And I hated the way he spelled his first name.

Too many insignificant names in this thread.
I gotta go with Kip Miller. Somebody tricked our coaching staff into believing that he was a 1st line winger. Close 2nd would be Koltsov, my god was he ever worthless.

You mean you didn't love the Jagr-Hrdina-Miller line?

I actually thought/think Hrdina could have been a solid 60 pt guy in the NHL.

My mom took me to the Mt. Lebo ice rink when I was a kid to watch the Pens practice. After practice, I waited with about 150-200 fans by the doors to meet the players and hopefully get some autographs. Tom Barrasso comes out of the doors, stops near me and then makes a sharp sudden turn and his hockey bag blasted me and almost knocked me over. He turned around, looked down at me with this blank face and a slight glare and just walked away. It was awesome!!!

Fans of the pre-Mario Pens, few as they were, always had one scapegoat/villain to ride mercilessly and regularly with boos and jeers. Since Mario arrived and the fanbase increased exponentially, this practice of always abusing one particular player at the games essentially stopped.
The abused players, all defensemen, were:
Noel Price 1967-1969
Duane Rupp 1969-1973
Ron Stackhouse 1973-1982

See, this is what I never understood. How does someone with no skill at all survive 7 years after he did anything half-decent? He had 2 good years when he first got to Pitt and then rode those FOREVER until he retired.
This stat may be my favorite. In 79-80, he played in 78 games and logged a grand whopping 36 PIM. Only could a true purse -carrying d-bag log 36 PIM in 78 games.
Great thread, I get to re-hate S**thouse all over again.

Before rifling thru 5 pages of this thread, I'll propose mine...and then read the last 4 pages.
The Russian defense pairing of Sergei Zubov and Dmitri Moronov (misspelled intentionally). Every time I see a Florida Panthers game, I still think back to that blind pass Zubov threw to nobody in Game 7 of the '96 ECF that led to the backbreaker (can't remember if it was the GWG or the ENG). As for Moronov, that guy was beyond-words bad.

If he would have shot the puck more, he would have.
He put up 24-35-59 in 79 games during the first year Jagr was gone. The following year he put up similar numbers 39 pts in 57 games, which would have projected out to 56 pts. However, this was also the year where he started having hip problems and everything kinda went downhill after that.

I forgot all about Noel Price! I will have to put him on my Top 10 list (which bumps Tyler Kennedy off the list). I'd put Stackhouse at #1, though, with Rupp slightly ahead of Price.

I remember Dugay just destroying Lemieux with a high hit around 1986. Dugay was with the Rangers at this point and the game was in overtime. He nailed Mario around the red line with a high elbow or something like that.
So for that memory, Dugay gets a seat of honor on this list.

Tamer gets a lifetime pass from me for his diving goalline stick save in one of the overtimes in Washington. Yeah he knocked the net off for the penalty shot, but that was a bad call
