For me, Valeri Zelepukin and Billy Guerin (when he was with the Devils) are the 2 off the top of my head.

Jeff Beukeboom was awesome and John Vanbeisbroick is another name I thought was awesome growing up.

I remember going to a Blackhawks game in 2001 and being extremely disappointed that Eric Daze was playing. Him and Zhitnick were players I thought rocked.

Peter Bondra was quite possibly my favorite hockey player period growing up. Possibly only 2nd to Kovalev.

Nick Lidstrom was one of my favorite players for a long time. I used to try an model my game after him when I played hockey. I usually tried to wear his number as well in my younger days. The only reason I think its irrational is my hatred for the red wings.

No current players who aren't former Pens fit the bill, but I had SERIOUS love for Joe Sakic when he played. My second favorite player growing up. I call it irrational because I hated those Avs teams otherwise. Forsberg, Foote, Claude, etc. But I did enjoy the Avs destroying the Devils in Game 7 in '01.
