if you do the draft, does it keep stats and everything?

From what I've read it seems that way.

I would think the best way to evenly distribute teams is to do the big fantasy draft on the first night...then it doesn't matter if most people get stuck with someone like the Senators or something low-tier.

I'm okay with the concept I suppose. What does everyone else think?

I like the fantasy draft idea, although someone already willingly picked Columbus, so it's not like anyone is getting "stuck"...

"Though GM Connected shows much promise, this year's version will not support a fantasy draft option and will have an automated entry draft. " Sorry guys I guess I was misinformed about there being a fantasy draft option from what I've read on hfboards. Let's just move forward with the current format. Still need plenty of teams!!

Then again, you're controlling them in a video game/non-real life setting. This is the kind of game where you could make Brooks Orpik a 20 goal scorer, so anything's possible.

I got to get a 360 this league thing sounds good. There needs to be some kind of "control" for the people who get bad teams. Maybe employ a smaller gapped cap system. Or your team can only have a certin ranked offence ro defence. And turn off injuries. Just ideas that need to be discussed.
Other questions, do you have to play the games in order, or can you just play the games at random.

There is a "randomize team rosters" option that should deal with the issue of parity if people are concerned with that.
Also, while the entry draft is automated, you do have the ability to set your draft rankings in advance, so you'd still be drafting the "new" players that you want in theory, just not in real time.
For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, an overview of GM Connected here:
http://www.easports.com/nhl/news/articl ... d-revealedThe games are played according to the 2012-2013 regular season. More details of how that works here:

Preds All day for me..
I like the draft IDEA but if there is a randomize rosters option, I vote that 100% because it eliminates a long timed draft, gathering multiple people, and has the same result...
