Go see this old abandoned bridge.

pretty sure i was at that exact spot. camped near moraine one or two years ago in its off-season. we were the only ones there other than the people that ran the place who were really nice. it was in november and there were all kinds of freaky, giant halloween figures hanging from the trees still from some kind of event.

I know some guys that went, but didnt have any luck.

I went up to my buddy's camp in Clarion on Saturday just for the night. Was coming home yesterday on 68 west right outside of Rimbersburg (before East Brady) and had a giant black bear cross the road about 75 yards in front of me. For all the time that I have spent in the outdoors, that is the first time I have ever seen a bear in the wild. It was pretty cool. Wish I would have gotten some pics.

Awesome and scary at the same time. I saw one bowhunting last year. I stood incredibly still until he came within about 40 feet of me. I had to do something.. so I yelled real loud, and he ran off after about 5 seconds of staring me in the eye.

My dad got a 12 point last rifle season. Just got the head back about a month or so ago. After almost 50 years of hunting, he never got a deer this big, so he was on happy man after bagging this one.

Wow that is a nice buck.

You didnt want to hear my yell that day. it was full of fear.

I went out for a bit in the evening but didn't see anything. I'm waiting for the farmer to cut his corn where I hunt. Once he does that it ought to flush all the deer down into the valley that I hunt.

heading to asheville to visit a friend and hike for a couple nights in Montreat, NC in a couple weeks. pretty excited. gotta get some kinda footwear.

general question concerning iodine tablets. if they say good until 2013, does that mean even if you opened the jar two years ago? same question regarding ibuprofen

Not sure about the iodine tablets, but the ibuprofen should be OK. Even if it is expired, you can still take it, but it may not be as effective.

I would imagine same goes for iodine. It's just a chemical element.

That is freaking awesome.

Cold Weather should hit this week. Hoping that pushes deer into rut. Look out once that happens if you have antlers :pop:

Went spotting tonight and only saw about 15 doe. Kind of depressing. I really hope the cold pushes them into rut soon because as of right now all the buck are bedded down still.

My buddy's father in law was lucky enough to get selected for an Elk tag in PA, and got one this morning. They actually have a camp up in Elk county, so I imagine that he was pretty excited to get one after seeing Elk all these years and not being able to hunt them.

No way. That. Is. Awesome! My coworkers went out to a ranch in Iowa and hunted them. Cost almost $8,000 each.

Yeah, that is pretty awesome. What is funny is that my buddy and his father in law paid big bucks last year to go to Colorado to hunt Elk and Mule Deer and came back with nothing. This year, one of them was lucky enough to get the PA tag.
