I'm bored and I thought this would be fun

Let's figure out LGP's top 10 qb's

I think Ben is 5. You have Romo wayyy to high. I also think Brees is 3 or 4 but He's overrated in the same way Eli is underrated -- stadium conditions

I don't look at team stats. Actually watch Romo, he's a great qb...

I found it funny the whole "OMGGZZZZZ ROMO OUTPLAYED ELI!!" week 1. He's better than him his whole career lol. Eli suddenly isn't elite because he's been on better teams

I had Rodgers 1 before he won superbowl.. then he did and everyone says he's amazing (he was amazing before). I had Brees > Ben before he won his SB, and I'm not going to change Eli

I can promise you if Romo won a sb (playing the exact same way he always has), he'd suddenly be in everyones top 4.. Its just stupid (for lack of a better term)

4th quarter: 99.8 qb rating
last 2 minutes of half: 94.8 rating
Ahead by 1-8 pts: 109.4 qb rating
Trailing by 1-8 pts: 102.4 qb rating
In red zone: 105.9 qb rating

18 TDs in redzone.. 0 ints

Agreed. Seems weird that there is a pocket full of ammo about Romo. You don't just pull those stats in 5 seconds when someone questions you.

End of the day, NFL QBs are measured by what they have accomplished. Ben would barely crack a top 10 if he didn't have 2 Super Bowl rings. Romo isn't terrible, but he hasn't done jack in the post season. Ben, Eli, Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, and Brady are all SB winning QBs. Are Romo's numbers any better than Rivers' (other than last year Rivers)? They are both guys that get to tread water at the bottom of the top 10 until they do something in the post season.

INTs aren't the only way to turn the ball over. He's also got 45 fumbles to go with those 73 picks. And his turnovers cost games. He's one of the last players you want for a last minute drive. Even most cowboy fans understand.

I'm going to sum up Romo talk with this post. I really hope this thread takes a new direction after this, because I promise this wasn't my intention.

I'm big on Romo... why I rated him 5. I was immediately questioned on that selection and then this thread became side tracked, which I apologize for. I didnt have his stats memorized, although I did know he had really good splits in all situations. I just quick googled them when debate came up (all those stats are on his NFL.com profile, wasn't like I went searching forever for some pro-Romo campaign lol). I realize quarterbacks are judged by championships, I just feel that's ridiculous / worst argument ever. When I first joined LGP i was actually warned by an unnamed LGP mod because I had similar argument over Drew Brees when I was "obviously trolling" for saying he was better than Ben. That may seem ridiculous now, but a couple years ago he was viewed in simlar light as Romo. I try to judge by what I actually see in talent / not results of team (similar to what NFL scouts do with NCAA talent). My opinion of Romo just happens to differ / I feel a lot of people are influenced by ESPN media.. For example, if you want to throw in fumbles too.. Romo still has a lot less turnovers than most NFL qbs

OK. I swear I'm done and I wasn't expecting this response. I can't believe I've gone on such a long rant defending a dallas qb that I obviously don't root for.

I'd really appreaciate if this thread turned into actually rating qbs rather than arguing the merits of one that I personally have ranked higher than most.

I agree with this actually. I have those pretty much exact same "tiers." I fele you could put tier 1 / tier 2 in any order and it would be hard to argue with
