Who is playing in Europe this year?

Postby DocEmrick on Thu Sep 06, 2012 6:34 pm

Do we have any solid numbers on the NHLers and where they are going to go this season? In PR, Malkin/Crosby are both heading to Europe, correct? Or is Crosby just a rumor?

What about other team's players? I assume all of the euros are going back to their home countries, or the K.

I had a week in Barcelona - bad ice
2 weeks in Czech Republic - beer too good, had to leave or it was career ending

Jagr signs to play for Kladno in Czech Republic, perhaps because of deep respect and affection for team owner. Who just happens to be Jagr.

Pavel Kubina to HC Vitkovice (Czech Extraleague), AFTER he serves the 15 games suspension given to him during the last lockout 2004.05 for the referee abuse.

Jagr and Plekanec will start playing for HC Kladno on Wednesday. Kladno actually contracted the biggest Czech arena (O2 Arena in Prague, the regular home arena for Slavia Prague) for several home games, including the game against Slavia this Wednesday. Kladno arena capacity is ~8,000, whereas O2 seats 18,000 spectators.

KHL:
Anton Khudobin (BOS) to Atlant Moscow Area.

Nail Yakupov to Nizhnekamsk.

Datsyuk to Kazan.

Daugavinsh (OTT) to Riga.

Bobrovsky (PHI) to St. Petersburg.

and Milan Michalek with the best timing for a stomach muscle surgery - he cannot be locked out, and thus he'll draw his 2012/13 Ottawa salary until full recovery.

Does that mean that philly can't lock out Pronger either and have to pay for his contract since he is on LTIR?

Plus Havlat will practice with Kometa Brno (CZE) and take care of his newborn baby girl. However, he said he would not play in Europe this year, because no insurance company is willing to insure him against injury. Go figure. :)
