Broadcast links for Euro leagues

Postby Tomas on Tue Sep 18, 2012 8:48 pm

Wiziwig forums are always a good start:

http://www.wiziwig.tv/competition.php?p ... =icehockey

For the Czech Extraleague in particular: For games not broadcast on a regular TV channel (in which case the link would likely be on wiziwig), you should be able to tune in to the league streams (no announcers, just the game sounds) at:
http://www.tvtipsport.cz/elh/
(this is for the games played during "regular" game days: Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays)

Thanks, Tomas
Can you (or anyone) get me on the good foot regarding the Magnitogorsk game today? Wiziwig says 9 o'clock. I'm taking that to mean 9 AM eastern.

Wiziwig is pretty good at displaying all times in terms of your own time zone. I myself see the start as 8:00, because I am in the Central Time Zone. So, indeed it's 9 AM ET.

Incidentally, KHL has finally a decent English-language website at http://en.khl.ru/ . All starting times there are in terms of Moscow time (which is 8 hours ahead of ET). Plus, you can find standings, stats... there as well.

Don't have a link, but Shelly Andersen said the P-G would have running updates for the game.

EDIT - Pens Universe has a live link on their Facebook page. Which I can't get to from work.

Since wiziwig has many KHL links only through the websites of betting companies (which we can't use in the US - thank you, Obama  ), here is a cool alternative:
http://onhockey.ru/

I am watching the "flash" version of Lion Prague vs. Avangard Omsk in a really good quality:
http://onhockey.ru/embedplayer.html
(to get fullscreen: right-click on the picture, sellect "toggle fullscreen" - but you have to use something different than Firefox. IE works fine.)

Don't mean to start a fight or anything, but it almost looks like Malkin is trying harder. Don't remember the last time I saw him dive all out to knock the puck off of a defender.

Something I have noticed watching these KHL games. There is no dump and chase from what I've seen and none of the bush league nonsense: face-washing, cross-checking in the crease, tom-foolery that the NHL has degenerated into. They literally try and pit talent against talent. I'm impressed. Hadn't really noticed how badly things had lost their way here.

I'm watching the feed at work so I have to minimize from time to time and being that I don't speak Russian, I find myself checking back every time the announcer gets excitement in his voice. Usually nothing is happening. I wonder if that works the same way with non English speaking people listening to Steigy or Doc calling play by play.
