The colorized version of the photo of Custer is neat. It's strange how different things are viewed with color.

When I picture stuff before they really made the switch to color film, I picture it in black-and-white.
Basically I (still) think life before the onset of color photography was black-and-white.
Also, how did they take the first picture of space in 1946? I always assumed Sputnik was the first thing up there, at least in orbit?

The dog's death, or Patton's?

Apparently, the photographer was Jewish. Goebbels was fine with him taking the picture until he got word that the photographer, Alfred Eisenstaedt, was Jewish.“He looked at me with hateful eyes and waited for me to wither. But I didn’t wither. If I have a camera in my hand, I don’t know fear.”

Both actually. They both died in a car crash in Heidelberg if I am not mistaken.
