Red Bull Stratos

Postby pittsports87 on Sun Oct 14, 2012 11:45 am

Some dude is jumping from 120,000 feet (approx. 22.7 miles).

He's on his way up now, almost at 20,000 feet. Still got a while to go before he gets to 120,000.

It's live on the Discovery Channel and on http://www.redbullstratos.com/live/

There is some kind of point/mission to this jump, no clue what it actually is though.

He's breaking a world record, I think.

Time to watch crap on Netflix for 2 hours.

Yeah, he got to 30,000 feet in about 25 minutes. Probably around an hour before he jumps.

That leaves enough time for alien autopsy, so I'd like to see that too.

I tried watching this last week. This is like the third attempt, the others were canceled due to weather.

Live on Discovery Channel. At about 68,000 feet now. Still a while to go before the jump. Good luck and God speed Felix Baumgartner.

He's breaking 3 records I believe, and will be the first human to break the sound barrier in free fall. That's a pretty big deal if you ask me.

A New Jersey amateur thrillseeker tried from that height about 40 years ago. Some sort of issues and was in a coma when he landed and died 4 days later.
