It also depends on Wallace.

Yeah, I think its clearly wholly dependent upon Wallace leaving. But that still seems pretty likely, right?

They could continuing franchising him when the opportunity presents itself. I don't think it's foregone at this point.

Speaking of, whatever happened to Bens devastating injury (ankle?) that he just had to mention during camp to get everyone worked up?

I'd be surprised (and mad) if he is. Steelers usually don't put up with this nonsense.

But here's the thing. Steelers do put up with this kind of stuff. Look no further than one James Harrison.

Good point. I did say "usually". Maybe I should have said "didn't used to put up with it".

While what Harrison did was obviously bad, I'm pretty sure that it ranks a few notches below this on the WTF scale.

In March of 1973 Ernie Holmes lead police on a chase and actually shot at a police helicopter.

You have to wonder if the players would've run wild like this under Cowher. It seems like Tomlin doesn't really do a good job with the thy mentality on the team.

That depends. Cowher before or after the SB win? Because he basically mailed in the last season.

But the point is the days of the Steelers beating their chests about being different than any other team and not having these types are thru. No one is buying it anymore. If this guy was a 5 year starter who was an asset to the team he more than likely would stay on the team.

EDIT: I take that back, the things he did were just WAY to crazy. Tone it down a bit and I could see him still a Steeler in that instance. But anyway, the point is the Steelers arent any different than any other team no matter how much the fans and organization pretend they are.

It's absolutely mind-boggling to me that wealthy people still get DUIs. In Pittsburgh, it's really annoying to try to get a cab on a weekend night, but I'm sure an NFL player could pay for a limo/hired car for the evening without any hardship.

I think tomorrow might be pushing it considering this happened on a weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if he was released on Tuesday.

I would say that I'd be disappointed if he is not reprimanded/released, but as mentioned in the last few responses, the "Steeler Way" is no more real than the Easter Bunny at this point.

If we go out of our way to ship a Super Bowl MVP out for minimal return because of marijuana use but let a potential felon facing jailtime who has barely seen playing time stay on the team, something is wrong
