Is there any place that discusses football history? I'm into it for hockey already and though I don't know nearly as much about football, I'd love to get a rough idea about how these players are viewed historically from people who study it. But I've never even seen voting records for MVP races before (not that I've looked terribly hard)...
And yes, Lewis has to be a quickly-entered (not sure the waiting period? 3, 5 years?) HHOFer...7x voted the best player at his position, 13x pro bowler, 2x defensive player of the year, Super Bowl MVP...to put it comparison, Jack Lambert was 6x 1st-team all-pro, 9x pro bowler, 1x defensive player of the year...Dick Butkus: 5x First-teamer, 8x Pro Bowler, (defensive player of the year award didn't exist until 1971)...Lewis had a longer career than both I think, but very impressive what he's done...
