Reading about George McGovern this week, and this gentleman, made me sad about the passing of this generation. I hate the term "Greatest Generation" as much as that generation does, but they really are a remarkable group of Americans. Raised in the Great Depression, they rose to the challenge in WWII and helped establish the U.S. as a world leader in the 1950s and beyond.
