Anyone want to go see the Erie Otters with me Saturday?

I want to see Connor McDavid, aka the second coming of Sidney Crosby.

Tickets are cheap - 13.50 and 11.50.

I'm going to go up and spend the night, I may hit the casino afterwards.

IM if you want to go, maybe if we get enough people we can get a group discount on tickets.

I live in Erie and ill be there.you can't switch sides of.arena due to renovations so you'll have to stay on one side. Section.4-10 is open so may be chilly. Friday nights game vs knights(Harrington and matta) is on NHL network at 7

Even though the Otters lost 3-2, it was a fun game.

Connor McDavid's play is so like Sid it's spooky. But tonight's star was the Otters goalie. Williams. He kept the Otters in a game they didn't deserve to be in.

I was there tonight, too. We really needed a hockey fix, and after watching them on NHL Network last night, decided to go. It definitely was a fun game. McDavid has some incredible moves and awareness. I was very impressed with his play both yesterday and tonight. Went in hoping to see Dansk in goal again since he looked good last night, but Williams was solid with 36 saves.

I watched the game vs London the other night.

McDavid is outstanding - he got pushed around a little bit by guys 5 years older than him, but when he fills out he's going to be unstoppable.

Oscar Dansk looked great in net. Columbus has something to look forward to with this kid.

There is a possibility Matt Murray will be in goal when the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds come this Friday, but it's the second of back to back road games for the Soo. If he doesn't play at Niagara Thurs. night, I'll be there for sure. From what I've read, he's having a great start to the season.

Going to try to get up there for a few games this year. October has been rough so I had to write that month off, but I'd like to get to at least one or two starting around Thanksgiving.

Erie's a fun team to watch this year. They were horrible last year - worst team in the entire CHL (OHL, QMJHL and WHL) - but that was in large part because they threw themselves into the OHL equivalent of the 2003-04 Penguins. The team last season was ridiculously young by OHL standards, and they had to play through a very tough season as a result.

Even by those same standards, this team is still very young, which really bodes well for the next few seasons. Harper and McDavid could eventually develop into something very good at the top of that lineup. Pelech is a very good OHL defenseman provided he can stay healthy.

Much of the rebuild was by design and Sherry Bassin took a ton of criticism for it - some of it very justified. But the ultimate reward was McDavid, who should very well go down as the best player in club history when his career is said and done. From what I've seen of him this year, the Crosby comparisons may be a bit of an exaggeration, but not much.

Good for the Otters. Can't wait to go see him at some point during the next couple years.

Since my installation was canceled for this weekend, I'm thinking of going up to Erie again on Saturday. They play Owen Sound. Anyone else planning to go?

EDIT - No Erie this weekend. Think I'll go to Hershey 11/17 to see the Baby Pens play.
