This is the most excited I've ever been for an NBA season. I think LeBron's going to have a monster year, with something like a 27-10-8 average. Here's a few of my other predictions.

MVP: LeBron
ROY: Anthony Davis
Scoring: Durant
East: Miami
West: San Antonio
Champion: Miami

JFC :face:

When I was growing up I was really into the NBA for about 10 years. Im pretty sure the Knicks went that entire decade without a single white player

I'm planning on paying attention to the NBA season as long as the NHL is locked out. I don't see how the west is anything but OKC vs. LAL and I think its Miami from the East again. I'm going with a bold prediction and calling for a Lakes vs. Heat finals (clearly no expert has predicted it, I am the first one).

and I should mention that the Wizards will continue to suck this year, probably to new, historic heights/lows.

Dallas seems to be backsliding so I'm gonna be rooting for Kobe and the Lakers.

Semi-serious question: How often do you use the word backsliding?

That's a very (southern) Baptist term to describe a sinner. That reminded me of my grandmother saying it.

I think it's the first time I've said it in years and really wasn't the word I wanted to use but couldn't come up with a substitute

I jump on a new team's bandwagon every year since Pittsburgh doesn't have a team. I've had good luck the past two years choosing Dallas before the 10-11 season and Oklahoma City last year. This year it's Chicago.

It will be interesting to watch how the heat mix in a Wade Allen James Jennings Bosh line up with no real point guard. I think it offers a number of interesting match up problems

I think now that the pressure is off of him a bit, Lebron is going to put up stupid numbers this year.

I don't think it was an accident that Kane, Stewart, Byfuglien, Oduya and Dawes were all on the Thrashers.

I don't think that article is okay. I can imagine what would happen if someone wrote an article saying the Thrashers were too black.

Watching Thunder/Spurs right now. Kevin Martin is solid off the bench, and long term I actually think the Thunder will be better off after the Harden Trade. I'll be interested to see how Houston does, and what pick OKC will get back in the draft.

Meanwhile, I'm pretty excited. Headed to the Cavs/Bulls game tomorrow to see how Kyrie follows up his 29 point performance in the opener. Was pleasantly surprised with Waiters first game. They're a young team, but actually could be very fun to watch this year.

Several thoughts.

James Harden is a legitimate monster. 45 points tonight? Nice.

Jeremy Lin is a serious quality point guard in the NBA. I was hoping he wouldn't be a half-season wonder, and he isn't disappointing. He and Harden complement each other beautifully.
