I mean, let's face it, that is an enormous disadvantage. Flying to and from NY on the day of the game? They won't even have a place to nap or anything prior to kickoff. Hope they eat their Wheaties

At the very least, they should move the game to Sunday Night. Air it against Sunday Night football? Air it against Monday night football? Just don't make them play at 4.

Why? If theres nowhere to stay theres nowhere to stay.

Because it mitigates the disadvantage if the team can leave at 10 am, get situated, rest at the stadium, then get ready to play at night instead of leaving earlier in the morning and rushing to play at 4.

Then they'll just have to leave before 10am. I understand its a bit of a disadvantage, but moving the game is gonna cause alot more trouble for everyone involved not named the Steelers to move it.

So it seems the original tweet has undersold the story a bit. The hotel the Steelers originally booked doesn't have power. No other hotels in the area are close enough or have enough vacant rooms. In addition, the team doesn't want to be disruptive in an area that's going through a tough time. An hour flight and a 15ish minute ride to the stadium isn't too bad.

i don't think this is a big deal.

but would you rather have them travel like this or play the game in pitts. but spot the giants a 3 point lead? 2 point lead?

Neutral site, or at least a different field in New York area (Syracuse? Rutgers?).

Just throwing it out there. Not saying they should do it at all. I'd understand that it takes a home game away from the Giants, but as I recall, they took away all of New Orleans' home games after Katrina (which I also realize is a completely different scenario, but bear with me).

Just trying to think of something that would make the burden of traveling on gameday easier.

if you were talking to me, i was just trying to gauge how much people think home field advantage is really worth if it came to a situation where you got to play at home instead of away. vegas gives 3 in general right?

With the Steelers, I'd obviously play the game at Heinz with and squat them 4 points.

It sucks for the Steelers, but what can ya do.

No reason to move the game. I know fans will complain about it, but no one on the team will... they will just go about their business. Sometimes crap happens, and you have to adjust.

The problem with making it a Steelers home game is ticket sales. You screw the Giants fans out of the tickets they bought. If you move it to a neutral site close to NYC, you're theoretically still having a home game away from home.

There's just as much, if not more, of an uprooting by the giants people who have and will be without power this week. The flight will be about an hr and it won't be an issue at all. If they lose the game, it won't e because of a game day flight

This is the way I feel as well. I don't see this as some big deal. The Giants are probably going through more issues actually being in NY this whole week.

The Giants weren't able to practice as much so i think any disadvantage the Steelers will have will be a wash in comparison

I'm more concerned about the Giants D line and about Nicks & Cruz rather than the travel stuff
