Their designated players cost them the game and are ugly to watch, from Henry's sulking and idiotic encroachment on the penalty; to Marquez' thuggery- I really can't stand them. It seems like Dax McCarty cries to ref every time his team loses possession. I do like Tim Cahill, though.
Is it me, or to MLS players berate officials more than any other league? I mean for clear fouls or insignificant calls? I actually thought the ref had a good game in the NY/DC game.
The Seattle/RSL game wasn't quite up to the quality of their first leg, IMO, but it was a heck of a goal by the seattle player (can't remember his name).
Yeah, the Redbulls remind me of the early-mid 2000s Rangers--they bring in all sorts of high-priced, over-hyped players without regard for chemistry or balance and get all indignant when they don't win. It is satisfying to see them lose.
I didn't see the 1st leg of Seattle/RSL, but I thought the 2nd leg was pretty good. Both teams moved the ball around well, created chances, and the fans were into it the whole game. These teams have clearly evolved beyond the traditional American/MLS style of scrapping and working hard, but doing so without much fluid, well-orchestrated passing.
