It was Mike Mayock from the NFL Network. When you look at it from a statistical perspective that's what you expect to see, intelligence and maturity. He's 15th in the country in QB rating. He's thrown two interceptions all season, none since the VT game (third game of the season). Nine yards per attempt. Completing almost 70% of his passes. On pace for over 3,100 yards.

Between the stats, the "coach's son" aspect that all color guys love to talk about, and that he makes a smart decision to throw the ball away once a game, you think you're dealing with a guy that has high football intelligence. Yea, he might not be the most talented QB in the world, but he's a guy that just "gets the game". Actually watching the games yields a completely different result.

His talent is non-existent. The offensive game plan has been marginalized to take no risks because his likelihood of failing is high. He switches to "Donovan McNabb huddle puke" mode anytime he's faced with a little bit of adversity. He's a complete punk who fails as a leader.

Tino has been fine this year in the sense that he hasn't cost Pitt any games, but he sure as hell isn't a QB who is going to win a game for you.

Edit: No come from behind victories in his three years as starting QB. Grow a pair you talentless prima donna.

I am still quite angry. I am not even close to having forgiven Pitt for that debacle last night. I can't believe that they were going to win and then they blew it.

Apparently there were two #2s on the field for ND when Harper missed the FG. Should have been a penalty, and a 1st down since it was 4th and 1. Awesome.

Did you at least have a good experience there, ulf?

Yeah it was awesome. I remember saying before the game that no matter what happened, I had a blast. (Just in case Pitt tried to ruin my day)

Got there around 11. Walked around campus, went in the Basilica, saw the bagpipe band play in front of the Main building. Saw the trumpets play inside the main building (which is really cool but sounds kinda lame.), saw the hockey and b-ball arenas. ND folk are very nice. The fans that picked them up, and most likely root for the Yankees, UNC bball, the Celtics...are all a-holes, but the ones from South Bend that most likely went to UND are awesome. Didn't meet one jerk, they all seemed to really hope you enjoyed your time. Hearing "Welcome to Notre Dame" actually got old. Gotta be one of the best road trips you can do for college football. Would have been the best day if Pitt could have won, but I went knowing that was unlikely.

However, I think it's safe to just blame this one on ulf.

upon further review, that 1-11 mark includes 3 overtime losses (syracuse circa 2004, utah in 2010, and this ND game). also includes the toledo debacle.

its amazing how many ways pitt loses games.

we tailgated on the golf course about 10 min walk to the stadium. we sat in 118 in the end zone opposite of touchdown jesus.

ND stadium is a lot like pitt stadium in a lot of ways, including the inadequate infrastructure and minor league food and bathrooms. its a cool place to watch a game, but honestly, heinz field is a more comfortable place to watch a game.

obviously the campus was baller and the fans were pretty decent-although the subway alums can get a bit annoying.

chicago is a gr8 city.

The bathroom situation reminded me of civic arena.

This quote right here is absolutely true. In my 3 trips up there, had the same experience, and it's the greatest place to go, not only for the game, but the fans are awesome.

The tshirt ND fans that you see around the country are some of the biggest aholes, but the actual true alumni and fans up at South Bend are some of the nicest fans in all of the sport. They make you feel very welcome.

I've been to about 13 different college venues for Pitt road trips, and while there are some great fans at other places, nothing tops ND.

I've never been to ND, but everyone that I know that has been there has raved about how awesome and welcoming their fans are.
