Nantz and Simms are unbearable. That's my number one thought for this game.

Love to the o-line too. Run blocking and pretty solid pass protection.

From some of your other posts I'm guessing you remember Curt Gowdy and Al Derogotis. This pair is cetainly in their zipcode. Although I remeber one time when Curt was choking back tears after the Steelers beat the Raiders.

The comment that stood out the most to me was made in the third quarter the with score 20-10. Simms explained that the difference in the game was the Giants defensive line and the steelers inability to handle the pressure, they then showed all 4 negative plays. The difference in the game was the refs changing what should have been one Giant FG into two touchdowns.

NFL channel reported that the Steelers gave up their hotel rooms for storm victims. If accurate they did so without fanfare.

Yeah the Steelers twitter account was saying they were departing on a flight yesterday morning, then I noticed another one about them heading home after the game. I didn't really put that together, but that is definitely what happened.

I really thought Cruz and Nicks would eat the Steelers alive. Good game all around even with the ref gaffs and that horrid fake FG.

Giants' offense was just terrible. I have no ability to gauge the ratio of Giant's playing poorly:Steelers playing well. Plus I think you have to take into account that the Giants have lost at home to the Eagles and Cowboys, two bad teams.

Basically, I think the Steelers need to win that first Ravens game before i build any confidence about a potential playoff run.

The Steelers have to win at least one of the Ravens games to have any real hope, IMO. If they do not, they will be on the road again, and probably lose (especially if they have to go to Denver again - losing Ryan Clark hurts the team pretty bad). So from that perspective, nothing has changed.

However, I'm pretty sure most of us would have marked this game down as a L beforehand. When was the last time the Steelers beat someone other than Cincy or Cleveland on the road? Even if the Giants are struggling a bit now, I think this game does show something about this team. The fact that they were able to overcome the officials handing the Giants 2 TDs in the span of 1:10 or whatever it was is pretty impressive, IMO. They had every excuse in the book right there, but they managed to fight back and win in the 4th quarter on the road.

Still... everything comes down to the matchups with the Ravens. I'm assuming both teams will have roughly the same record otherwise again.

This team is 2 crappy losses away from being 7-1.

ravens will be 7-2 and steelers will be 6-3 2 sundays from now

You would think they can handle beating the Chiefs without Troy, hopefully he comes back against baltimore healthy.
