I don't know if they are guilty or not. But I gotta give Pitt some credit for not rushing to judgement immediately, like so many people do in today's society.

The timing of the whole thing doesn't add up either...

Pitt played Buffalo (in Buffalo) at 3:30 that day. The game was over at 7PM. I have never been in a college football locker room, but I imagine that they are in the locker room for about an hour until they leave the stadium, so it's now 8 o'clock.

According to mapquest, it takes between 3 hours and 40 minutes and 4 hours and 30 minutes to get from Buffalo to Pittsburgh, so lets say that it was a 4 hour commute home (which is being generous because they are traveling by bus, which generally takes a little longer). So now it's midnight. I would imagine that they also stopped to eat at some point, given the time of the game.

According to this article from the Huffington Post, the incident happened around 12:30 AM. The team would have had to haul it back big time (and not eat) in order for the players to be in Oakland during the alleged time.

I won't lie, I am a miserable suffering Pitt fan, but this all sounds fishy to me.

if that article is true, then they should all be thrown out of the University not just off the football team. The stupidity involved in this is staggering. I don't understand how you even enter into a conversation to do this? Even if you're a few drinks in, there's gotta be something in an athlete that tells him this isn't a good idea, unless they feel some heightened sense of entitlement. Did they think no one was going to recognize them?? They'll be drafted or signed as FA's by the NFL, as long as they have good combine scores regardless of what happens to them legally.
