It used to be in the 50's or 60's, that they would take young girls and have them take singing lessons so they could sing really well. Now they take a girl and put her voice through the computer to fix the bad notes. And then they sell that crap like pancakes. Not talking specifically about this one because I don't know if she sold anything, but if you ever heard Taylor Swift or Avril Lavigne sing live.... It's crazy.

Personally, I think it’s a sad comment on the state of current pop music that but for the lousy singing and inane lyrics, this song could be a chart-topping hit. I mean, the fake piano, the thumpy drum machine, even the African-American background singer could all easily be backing the singing of some other purveyor of mass-produced dreck like Justin Bieber, Christina Aguilera, Ke$ha, etc.

Friday was just ridiculously bad from the lyrics, to the subject matter of the video shots to all the auto-tune. It was so absurd it made her famous.
