Nationwide race delivering again. Logano has led almost every lap, but there's been some real good racing in the 1.5 groove track. Sadler wrecked himself, ending his championship run with 2 laps left. Logano and Vickers (racing in the 20 he'll drive next year), traded the lead and ran sad by side for two straight laps when the caution came out. Red flagged and heading to the first attempt at a GWC. The Nationwide Series has just had phenomenal racing this year.

Logano wins 9th race this year. That's 9/21 -- 42%. Just 2% short of KyBu's 44% when he won 12/26 or whatever it was a couple years ago.

Johnson has gotten into a terrible habit of overdriving the car when he's behind in the Chase. He did it at Charlotte last year, Kansas this year, and now Phoenix---Goodyear reports he melted the bead. Kes was racing Hamlin hard for second, which allowed Harvick to make it three-wide with the 2 in the middle. He checked up reaaaall fast there.

The 2's team is basically begging him to take it easy. Denny's car has been gone on the long, long runs and KyBu's starts to fade. If this stays green, Denny has a pretty good shot at winning.

I was thinking Kesolowski would have a fighting chance going into Homestead. Barring a disaster, he gets his first championship. Most certainly great for the sport.

It was shaping up for another Edwards-Stewart too. What a shame. And oh great. Everyone pits behind Hamlin and Busch.

Well, I guess there are 6 cars between Hamlin and the first car with four tires. Shrug. It's a shame we only get one more afternoon like this.

Waltrip calls Gordon "cowardly and chicken." Gordon and Bowyer rubbed, Gordon got into the wall, then Gordon slowed until Bowyer came all the way around and he wrecked him, nearly costing the 2 in the process. The two pits break out in a fight, and two members of the 24 crew literally pinned Gordon in a tool box to protect him. He escaped to the hauler, while Bowyer took off faster than I've ever seen anyone take off before. Bowyer is so awesome---the real travesty is he was going to finish 3rd in points. Now he won't. Harvick short on fuel, 1-2 with his archnemisis KyBu. Wowowow. Where has this been all season.

Also, BK tweeting.

I know they hate throwing cautions on the second to last lap, but Patrick spun early in the GWC and never got back up to speed. She was still on the bottom when the leaders came around to take the checkers and it results in WW3. They have to throw cautions in that situation. Just totally unacceptable.

On the replay you can see she left a giant streak of oil (it was not her fault, the 31 got into her), and all the cars power slid through it as they came to the start-finish.

BK in Media Center: "Double Standard? That's F*** BullS*** what happened out there. I get called an ***hole last week for racing hard, and those guys out there race like that? That's F***** Bull****."

Wow.Everyone has super harsh words for Gordon.

Denny Hamlin ‏@dennyhamlin

Great turnaround week for our FedEx team.. 1 more to go! On another note. The 24 should be parked! He took out 5 cars in that BS!

Joey Logano ‏@joeylogano

When I was young I thought @JeffGordonWeb was the best driver. Now I've lost a lot of respect for him. #verydumb

Hey, as much as I respect(ed) Jeff Gordon, that was one of the ugliest scenes I've seen in my life. What happened prior to that, at the end of the day, was racing. That was extraordinarily bad.

BK 15th or better clinches championship.

NASCAR says it didn't see oil; that's why it didn't throw the caution. Pretty ridiculous statement. The reason they always throw a caution when a car spins is because there is a decent chance there would be oil.

The worst part about that is they could have easily thrown the yellow as the cars went off into turn 3 on the last lap and nobody would have complained. It's the same BS they pulled at Watkins Glen.

In other news, park the 24. Disobey a black flag and wait and wreck a guy. As twisted as it sounds, if you dump a guy in the act of racing as retaliation its fair. Wait around and wreck a guy with your busted car is about as close to assault as you can get for a racer. They didn't park the 99 when he sent BK skyward at Atlanta a few years ago, so they won't park the 24. Granted, the 99 didn't disobey a black flag, but what "boys have at it." :face:

I understand them wanting to let them get back to the white flag, but it was clear while the lenders were still in 2 that the Patrick machine was wounded and in trouble. It wasn't much different than the Dale Jarrett incident that led to freezing the field in the first place near 10 years ago.

As for the just before the white wreck of the 24/15 - looked equal blame there. I don't know what the hell Bowyer was doing that down low on the apron when 24 had already been down there to give way to the lead lap car (Logano). Sure Gordon had intent, but Bowyer sunk himself there, coming back up to the track at a spot the 24 already was at. Not condoning Gordon's intent, but after Martinsville, etc., hard to fault him for his frustration.

Happy for Harvick, and for Richard Childress. It was a year-long drought for the team at the Cup level.

I think bowyer probably knew that if he went high Gordon would easily put him in the wall, atleast going low he gave himself a chance..same move I woulda made.

I've never liked Gordon and this really cements it.

Some more big news.. Trucks to Eldora and Nationwide to Mid-Ohio are pretty much official now. Those 2 races will be a riot. Pretty sure I'm going to both of them.

The Mid-Ohio race is going to be frightening, can't wait to see those tanks crawl through Madness. Eldora will be fun though, that'll get circled on the calendar.

Penalties: Why put them on probation for a week. What's the point?

In other news, I'm kind of shocked it took them this long to put their foot down on cell phones in the car. Wouldn't be very hard to send some elementary telemetry back to the pitbox. Hell, half the Lemons and Chumpcar teams are running some sort of telemetry app.
