Along the same lines (at least in my head), Dreamcatcher is a really good movie too.

Yup, you called it. The original is by far the best, but the CGI on this is pretty darn impressive for 2006.

Having read the book, dreamcatcher is a terrible movie. The first 3/4 are spot on with the novel. The last 1/4 took a huge left turn.

The Mist was good. Shocking ending.

I always crack up when I see Leslie Nielsen in his pre-Airplane! serious roles.

It holds up well, I think. I always try to watch it when it's on. Heard something about a reboot, I think. Not sure how I feel about that.

love this movie and its a shame that it sort of fell out of history. i think with a different approach to marketing, and possibly a year or two earlier release, this would be regarded much higher.

disney wanted to sell toys. joe johnston wanted to make another indiana jones movie.

ive loved the film for a while and wish i couldve gone to disneys big event last summer for the 20th anniversary

The Mist is only 5 years old? For some reason I thought it was early 2000s.

Very solid, perhaps one of the best in 20+ years. Peter Travers of Rolling Stone says it's a top five all time Bond movie, but I don't think you can compare it to the first few Connery films. Easily beats anything Roger Moore, Tim Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan put out though.

Spoiler:
I really loved how they went back to their beginnings, in a bunker. Even the old office with Moneypenny and the padded door for sound proofing. Ralph Fiennes will make a fine M, should he stick around.

Anyone watch Moonrise Kingdom? Darjeeling limited left me very underwhelmed and I'm hoping this is more to my liking.

Saw Skyfall yesterday and really loved it. Nice undertone of new vs. Old. Sure didn't feel like 2:23 long.

My only complaint was the blatant product placement. I'm especially looking at you Heineken.

Also happened in Book of Eli... you figure a nuclear apocalypse would be the end of product placement, but noooo...
