One thing is for sure, the guy needs to workout with the team and doctors. I'd stop letting him go on his own if I was management.

If the guy can't play more than 3 games a year then yea you gotta get rid of him. Way to much cap space taken up that could be spent on anyone in the world to play safety other than Ryan Mundy.

Maybe this will be a moot point if Mendenhall isn't ready for a few games yet. I think the Steelers have a nice pair of runners in Dwyer and Redman. The only thing more I'd like to see from them is remaining healthy the remainder of the year. I don't understand Kirby Wilson's view that Rashard remains the starter.

The way Troy has played the game I've wondered whether he's "hit out". That's a term I read that some Steeler players used about physical defensive backs that really belted WRS and RBs. It described guys that pounded opponents but their hitting eventually wore themselves down. It may have been used regarding Glen Edwards who was a very good starting safety on their first super bowl team. He was skinny,maybe weighing 190 tops. He was a brutal hitter but really faded fast while he was in his late 20's.

I read Wilson saying that. The last answers that Tomlin made seemed non-commital but I imagine Wilson's given a lot of say so since he's a well respected position coach. I just find it a strange decision if it really happens.
