Either case, Hampton isn't good and has been on a decline for a few years and had one of the best DE next to him to overshadow his effectiveness for a long time.

It's tough to put a number on Casey Hampton's impact. And the Hall, and the great ones are judged upon numbers for the most part. He's not asked to make tackles and get after the QB. His assignment is to take up 2+ blockers and let our LB's do their thing. Because of him, we had the #1 rush defense in the NFL for 10+ years.
