"Purple Rain" is one of my deserted island records. It's an amazing collection of songwriting, artistry and performance, and the song "Purple Rain" is, for my money, one of the two or three best songs from the 1980s.

i didn't know that lisa and wendy have been in a monogamous lesbian relationship since their time in the revolution.

i also didn't know that they have been very successful in recent years scoring movies and TV shows.

The only score of theirs I know was "Dangerous Minds", and I don't even think that was credited (at least not at the time).

This. Someone already mentioned it, but when on the stage with LEGENDS of rock, and you absolutely steal the show, you are doing something right.

Go to about 3:20.

The fact that he is playing a sweet ass Tele on one of my favorite 'guitar songs' warms my heart.

Oh, and how much does Dhani Harrison look like his dad? 4:42 is like George is watching through his eyes.

So we've finally found something we can all more or less agree on and it's a vegeteraian borderline lunatic midget prancing about in fancy clothes and praising - in falsetto - the merits of the burqa and is a Jehova's witness to boot?

Ok. :thumb:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure most of us wouldn't care for the guy personally.

He is a pretty cool mammajamma, musucally though. A lot of times, borderline lunacy is what it takes to be a great artist.

I think I've seen this on here before, but it bears repeating. This is a clip from George Harrison's posthumous induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Prince was also inducted that year, and joined in on an excellent version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps...Prince's solo begins at 3:30.

Tom Petty needed to just shut up once it was obvious Prince was busting out a solo... he didn't really need to stop singing completely but he would like say 1 lyric and then stop like "Oh, he is still going?"
