That game just has that "It" factor that works. I never beat the game. I made it to the final stage a few years ago, but I ran out of keys and couldn't unlock the final door to the final boss. Spent like an hour trying to find another key somewhere, but couldn't.

The top 10s on here are more reasonable than the list originally posted.

I may give a shot at mine, but I have to think about it some more.

This is a tough one. I'll have to do it by format.

Arcade/Standup
1. Pac Man
2. Spy Hunter
3. Donkey Kong

Classic Console (Atari, Intellivision, Coleco)
1. Pitfall!
2. Empire Strikes Back (Atari 2600)
3. B-17 Bomber (Intellivision)
4. Time Pilot

NES/SNES/Genesis
1. Super Mario Brothers
2. Contra
3. Tecmo Bowl
4. NES Hockey
5. F-Zero
5. Conflict
6. Ice Climber (fond memories of this game, not sure why)
7. NHL 94

Apple II
1. Choplifter!
2. Kareteka
3. Castle Wolfenstein
4. Rescue Raiders
5. Ultima IV
6. Superstar Ice Hockey
7. Oregon Trail

Windows
1. BF 1942
2. Medal of Honor Alied Assault
3. BF2
4. Doom
5. Close Combat series (Primarily the last 2-3, but all are good)
6. BF3
7. Call of Duty (original)
8. Tetris
9. Wolfenstein 3D

Overall
1. Super Mario Brothers
2. BF 1942
3. Chop Lifter!
4. Medal of Honor Allied Assault
5. Kareteka
6. Tecmo Super Bowl
7. BF2
8. Pitfall!
9. NHL 94
10. Rescue Raiders

Man, that's about 30 years of video games.

nocera wrote:Since we all clearly disagree with the list, I thought it'd be fun to do individual top 10s. (These are games that were important to me, not necessarily the best of all time.)

Mortal Kombat 1/2
NHL 95
Dirt Track Racing: Sprint Cars
Monster Truck Madness 2
Need for Speed
Grand Theft Auto Vice City
Supercross 2001
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1
Sonic and Tails (2? 3?)
WWF No Mercy

I remember as a kid on Christmas morning opening presents and I didn't have a Sega Genesis yet but my neighbor did.. Well as I'm opening gifts I discover Mortal Kombat 2 and I was so distraught that Santa brought me a Sega game but I didn't have a Sega so my parents told me I'd have to give it to the neighbor or whatever and then of course a few minutes later I find the box with the Sega in it and was thrilled /csb :thumb:

BTW, offsides is the second or third oldest poster on this board and he probably has a better knowledge of current video games than even I do. :P

He is seriously my role model for myself in 35 years.

As somebody else mentioned in another thread, I also figured offsides was way younger.

But I have to admit that I'm quite allright with not playing any video games anymore. I tend to be quite stubborn and never quit when I should.
