The idea of ranking seems quite daunting with such a large body of stuff.
Kraftster wrote:I don't necessarily hate metal, I just can't find a place for it. Like Listening to a couple songs I can say, yeah, that's cool. But there's never a time where I'm like, "man, I need some metal right now." I generally try to stay pretty balanced and if there are emotions that I indulge in heavily they would probably be wonder and feeling, not aggression, which I feel like is the emotion that metal most suits.

I don't listen to enough to do best of. All I can do is list some 2012 albums I've enjoyed, which basically amounts to me just looking down through my spotify and finding albums I've listened to in their entirety that I've liked, skipping ones that I've just listened to one or two songs from.
Alabama Shakes - Boys & Girls
Divine Fits - A Thing Called Divine Fits
Caravan Palace - Panic
Brandi Carlile - Beer Creek
The Lumineers - The Lumineers
The Shins - Port of Morrow
Grizzly Bear - Shields
Cloud Nothings - Attack on Memory
Shearwater - Animal Joy
The Helio Sequence - Negotiations
The Mynabirds - GENERALS
During this exercise, I also realized how many albums I want to get through that I haven't yet.
