My job is to de-stress my wife who used to get upset if our married kids &grandkids don't show up at a given time. She's finally relaxed some the last few years. Our 2 married sons and married daughter , spouses and kids end up going to both sets of parents. I've finally convinced my wife to set a time to eat and they can eat whenever they show up.
The other trauma event involves "eating at the kids table". When they're all here everyone won't fit at the dining room table even if it's extended. So we always have a second "kids"table in the living room. Once they're 12 or 13 they get really irked abd rebel at being relegated to the kids table.
