It's odd so many restaurants there failed. I liked Typhoon...

yes

solid beer selection with lots of micros and imports on the list. They do woodfired pizzas and IIRC their burgers are pretty good too. The last few times I got wings they were a bit on the undercooked side, although I'm somewhat picky and like mine slightly overcooked so I'm probably not a good person to ask. Prices are about average for what you'd pay for pizza, wings, and an import.

One downside: they allow smoking. :( Second minor downside: low ceilings = loud noise.

It's a create your own stir-fry place that has about a dozen meats and 20 sauces to choose from. When I went on Sunday I had a coupon so I was able to get my lunch, drink, and tip for under $8. That $8 also included the $2.99 doggy bag, which is something they just started doing. A little extra money so I don't have to cook for the rest of the day? Yeah, I'll take it.

Without the coupon, I'd say you can get a drink and your meal for around $11 for lunch and $13 for dinner, which starts at 4.

BD's is doing 50% off for veterans this week.

Girasole was closed for a private party. Womp womp.

Went to new Elbow Room on Walnut. "Super hot" wings were neither super nor hot. Waiter brought me small plate ahi tuna - without asking me if that was what i wanted - and had no side at all. Tuna was dry, sauce was too.

2/10. Won't be returning. Womp womp.

Ate at Toast! last night. I was a little disappointed based upon mostly glowing reviews. I just wasn't really blown away by anything. The best thing I ate was the crispy pork with candied jalapenos and cornbread small plate. The red pepper soup I had was extremely average and my brisket was cooked perfectly but lacked a little punch. Dessert was good but not great. My wife loved her Hanger steak and dessert (pot de creme), so maybe I just made the wrong menu choices.

They did pick up our dessert for our anniversary, which was nice and very unexepected.

Thai Cuisine.

That and Pusadee's Garden are the best Thai places in the city in my book.

where is pusadee's garden?

Troy, if you are going to be hipster new-Lawrenceville style, you should know this.

It's on Butler Street at like 52nd. Great outdoor garden with seating on the side too.

Went to Pusadee's last night, my dad's girlfriend was pushing the curry so I had a green curry dish and it was delicious. I need to have the pad thai before proclaiming it the best thai place in the city...but I'm pretty sure it's going to be the best. And as an added bonus, the wannabe swanky bar across the street had draii laag on tap so I got to kill two birds with one stone on that trip. Those dudes in Millvale need to get their **** together and start making more barrels.

Where did you park? I always wondered about that place. The meters on Baum are off limits in the early evening. Either way you have to walk at least a block.

Our reservations were for 8:00 PM. We parked right on Baum a short distance from the restaurant.

Can't go wrong with Dino's or Sharky's. As another option, there's DeNunzio's at the airport if you are looking for something a bit more upscale.

Dinos. Steeler Burger. Cheese, egg, onions, bacon, lettuce, tomato, all between grilled cheese sandwiches for buns.
