I clicked on the locations and there is one coming soon pretty close to me. Closest now is like 60 miles. In freaking Pennsylvania.

I've never minded our ghetto neighbors down the street (a few different houses), but I'm pretty livid today. On Tuesday, the school bus was stopped down at the corner (hadn't let kids off yet) and my wife makes a left turn onto our street in front of it. The bus driver honked at her, and she felt terrible about it the rest of the day.

Fast forward to today, my neighbor informs me that one of the ghetto mamas has been smearing my wife's name up and down the street, using some rather choice words to describe her, was in our driveway taking a picture of her car, and gave it to the bus driver. Of course, she doesn't know the first thing about my wife.

I think I would be less angry if this was aimed at me, but I am absolutely furious. I really hope I don't find out who the person was either. So typical, turn a completely minor incident where nothing happened into the drama of the block for an entire week. Get a **** job you losers.

Wet bar rough ins will be installed and the basement will be completely finished with a full bath. Good ideas are welcome as are where to go for other ideas!

for me...

i'd make sure to have it layed out/wired for the ideal surround sound system

i'd also pre-wire an HDMI cable and power outlet up to a spot on the ceiling to make it easy to install a projector. even if i wasn't planning on using it right away, i'd get it wired.

sounds like you found the perfect neighbors for burbs day next summer. I'd be upset too, you should send them a crazy Christmas card with your family on it like in the thread with strange cards

Just to play devils advocate... the neighbors don;t know your wife well enough to know that she felt horrible and wasn't just giving the virtual 'finger' to the safety of those kids. Remember, most people judge people by how they themselves might behave. So it says a lot that the 'Ghetto family' isn't giving her the benefit of the doubt.

Again, I'm just playing a bit of devils advocate here, but since your wife made the mistake, maybe if she reached out to these folks and said "hey, my bad, I didn't realize the situation until after it had happened and I felt horrible about it. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again.", maybe that would go a long way to difusing the situation. If the apology isn't accepted, hey a least she has the comfort of knowing she did the right thing and ... well... screw 'em.

To play more devils advocate, how would you feel if the "ghetto mamas" cut in front of the bus like that. would shad say "gee whiz, the person that cut in front of the bus probably feels really bad about it" or would shad say mean things about her?

We don't owe that woman anything. If she had a problem with it, come down and talk about it. Don't run around the neighborhood using ridiculous words to describe my wife...who, by the way, just got back from spending her own money to buy Christmas presents for underprivileged children.

KTK, regarding your question, would I be irritated about it? Sure. Would I go running through the neighborhood cursing her name up and down? Of course not. And I certainly wouldn't have taken a picture of her car and license plate. We have lived here for 3 1/2 years. I have seen this crap before...they LOVE drama.

It was stopped at our street with the red light on. My wife was a little confused, and thought that just meant you couldn't pass it, so she saw there were no kids out and about and turned left onto my street in front of it. She didn't really cut it off or anything like that.

Apparently it's also evolved into "almost hit our kids", even though the kids were still on the school bus. She knows that she should probably get a citation, and felt guilty about it right after it happened. I'm not denying that my wife violated a traffic law, I'm irritated that it's being blown out of proportion by someone with way too much time on their hands

Yeah, I know. I think 85% of what is pissing me off so much is how it's upsetting my wife.

I'm the very very calm one in my relationship with the future mrs. c2i. She is constantly upset about everything and if I were to join her about being angry about such things I think she may explode. Just assure her that it's not a big deal and move on.

So solve it. Diffuse it.

Your wife made a mistake. The "Ghetto lady's" mistake is that she's blowing it up into a major felony... "I'm sorry" goes a long way. JMHO

there are a lot of triggers for gossip and negativity. i never have much of a reaction to either.

and if these people are as abhorrent as you describe, then their opinion is dirt anyways - as is anyone who takes them seriously. i understand why you're upset, though. if it was aimed at me, i wouldn't waste a thought on it. if it was aimed at my wife, i'd be pissed
