I finally got my laptop back at work!

We are currently undergoing a reorg at work. A lot of people have left, because basically is now sucks to work in our group. We are incredibly short staffed. And because our CIO's rotten reputation now procedes him, they can't get anyone internally to the overall company to apply.

I was called into my manager's office yesterday. I have been "repositioned" as part of the reorg. I am now the Infrastructure Project Manager (cool, no problem. Like that part.). But...same salary. And I now also have to help out on the extremely short staffed IT call desk for our area.

I am not happy. I said "Do I at least get a new job title and bump in officer grade?" My manager (I feel so sorry for her, they are trying to phase her out because she actually challenges the CIO and his cronies.) said she'd look into it. She just looked so beaten.

I have been looking already. I am really ramping up the job search now. I actually used to like working here and coming in every day. Now I just HATE it with a passion.

Sorry for venting. But I'm ticked.

No other options to transfer internally as a short term means to provide shelter from the storm? I would guess your HR group probably is aware of the fact no one wants to work under the CIO and they may help in a transfer if you are in good standings. If not, getting out while you're still alive is smart.

The question is do you think you can out last that CIO? He probably isn't long for that position, but if it's going to be hell to work there, I'd definitely get my name out. Update Linked-In, all the best employers i know are starting their searches there now.

yeah, they have been sending out emails calling it a pricing mistake that they will not honor.

they wont charge you the difference. they will either give you the merchandise at the price you accepted, or will cancel the order. expectedly, the latter of the two. it would be illegal to charge you the full price.

earlier in the week, i had a deal at staples that processed for an in-store pickup, they confirmed that my order was ready, and then wouldnt honor it when i got to the store. that was infuriating.
