We bought a new fridge for the kitchen, so the old one got converted into Beer Fridge Ursa Major.

Championship.

Don't get me wrong. I have some of his songs on my playlists and the beats were really good. Maybe its just that Guilty Conscious song that stuck out, but it was so high and whiney when he rapped.

Sooooooo awesome to watch Sportcenter devote an entire segment, complete with interview with trophy of what I think is the MLS Championship MVP, all while knowing this would still be happening even if hockey was in full swing.

so, this is the latest in a long string of cluster f's at my job.

yesterday, the building manager told me there were going to be contractors in our building repairing damage from Sandy. I went on a walk through with him and the contractors yesterday to get exactly what they were supposed to do, and where they needed to do it. I was told to have a security guard with them AT ALL TIMES when they entered the tenant spaces in the building, but to make sure they had access to wherever they needed to go. sounds straight forward, right?

ok, so this morning... the contractors were supposed to arrive some time between 5 and 530, so i went in to work ON MY DAY OFF at 5:00am, just to make sure the contractors got set up properly. Contractors didnt show up til like quarter after 6. and they had a crew of like 10 people. The lead contractor said he brought an extra crew so they could spread out and do more work at once, since they needed to work on 7 different floors. 3 issues with this... 1. I was told they needed escorted by the building manager. 2. the tenants did not agree to have unsupervised contractors working in their spaces. 3. even if they did spread out, i don't have any access badges to give out that would allow them access into the tenant spaces without an escort anyway.

so, i tell the dude that there are issues with this, and we try to call the building manager. i don't get an answer, since it's ass early. so i get the guys started, and i leave them with my dude on the 3rd floor (where the work was supposed to start), and left around 7/730 ish.

like 5 minutes after i got home, i got a call from the building manager, furiously demanding why i was giving the contractors a hard time. of course, the story he was told was "security isn't giving us access", and he just assumes that i'm an idiot. i told him the story, and he told me to just let them do what they want.

this is gonna be awesome monday when something inevitably gets broken or misplaced(stolen) by some contractor who is working alone in an unauthorized area. If he just wanted us to let them in the rooms, he should have just programmed them access badges on friday, and left us out of it. but he specifically said that they needed to be escorted. that's why this pisses me off. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Great.

It's a building from the 40s, so the aesthetics are mix of classic and new.
Tons of windows (20 in fact), high ceilings and hardwood floors.

The daschshund is wondering where his new couch is.....it's arriving in a few hours.

Yes, I tipped the movers.

Putting together bunk beds while hungover & listening to wham! should be an Olympic sport.

Why anyone would ever utter MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice in the same sentence is baffling to me at this moment... The difference is staggeringly in favor of MC Hammer
