It's official. We are the best fans in the whole league.

Thanks to Pens fans the team had a 5-year sell-out streak at the end of last season. Fans also flocked to the TVs, producing the highest local cable ratings in the NHL. The team's Facebook page has 1.2 million followers -- impressive considering it represents 51% of Pittsburgh's population.

I think the 10 years Pens fans who make fun of the 7 years blue shirts Pens fans, may not realize that the Penguins, you know, actually wore blue jerseys back in the day.
So really, the blue shirts really should be making fun of the bandwagoning-johnny-come-lately-black-and-gold-wearing Penguins fans.

Yeah, I'm old enough to remember the backlash from Boston when the Pens decided to go from the Blue Sweaters to Black and Gold.
I always laugh at those who call the Blue Sweatered folks "band Wagon", it shows that they have no sense of Pens history.

I think us plebs all know that the Pens wore blue in their early days. I think this is more of a case of someone some wiseass not having a sense of humor.

haha I remember that. I like the blue jerseys, the dark ones not the baby blue ones (although I have one of those haha) - I kind of wish the Pens kept those colors, but I understand why they switched I guess.

Yep... but I still love ya Gaucho

(And that offer to show you around next time you come to NYC is still valid - but you have to wear a Blue Pens throw back sweater during the visit

)

Clearly they don't take into account how loud the fans are or if they leave the game early.

The thread is even funnier when you see the OP username.
