Split a bottle with a coworker and loved it. Medium body, complex spices. Good stuff.

Is it malty/floral/bitter at all? I have a hard time with Christmas beer that is heavy on spice...

I had a six this week and it wasn't a tradional IPA, but it was pretty good.

Wacky. That's my hometown (well, right next door); Mystic, that is. Not Pawcatuck where the brewer is.

You are from Mystic? I was at the CGA, spent a lot of time in Stonington, and golfed many a round at the crappy golf course at the Groton sub base. Spent a lot of time in that area.

It has a nice bitter finish to it. Moderate malt upfront. What I like about the spice is that it's not heavy. There are alot of different spices, but the right amount. It's more complex than just the cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. There is vanilla, ginger, and even notes of fig and plum. It's difficult to describe because it's rich without being overly spiced or sweet. If you can find a bottle (or 6 pack) get it. If you hate it, I'll gladly take the extra off your hands.

Extremely strong ale (9.9%), but it is quite good. Definitely has touches of an IPA, touches of a brown ale.
