Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
NHLPA has asked NHL to bring mediators back into the process. League has not agreed to this point...
Make it stop. Please.

I can see it now. Mediators come in, see the league's latest proposal, turn to players: "what the f is your problem?"

Maybe that's what the players need? Too big of a gap between certain players? Maybe one side of the players who wants the deal wants to bring in the mediators to convince the other players it's a good deal?

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of players would be perfectly happy with roughly the deal is on the table and wonder why there's no progress.

I don't see the players getting a better deal on the table after this point, if it goes futher all they gained to this point will be lost. Gary should say take it, or we cancel the season.
I know what Fehr is telling the players right about now.... what have you gained out of these negotiations that you didn't have before. Sure it looks like the NHL has given them back on terms, but the players have not gained one thing they didn't have befor. But they sure have given in this latest CBA round. And if he is saying this he got a great point!
But i can see the owners hold the cards and can do this to the players... so i think the players should settle.

I like what the article someone had up yesterday said. Nothing still on the table will ever effect the 3rd or 4th liners anyway. In fact, the remaining sticking points only affected like a dozen elite players. Too bad most the players are too dumb to realize it.

If I'm a 3rd or 4th liner, I'm breaking down the door to the negotiations to say yes, yes, yes. Those guys face new competition for their job every year, it's not certainty that they will be in the league for more than a few years. To lose a whole season on this stuff is stupid. Not only that - but if a few teams contract - they are the first to go.

I predict the lockout will end next Tuesday. It would be Day 87. All part of Bettman's plan, right?

I don't understand why they don't have a player vote. Other than Fehr likely having a hissy fit. Well, boo-hoo.

It seems like bad things happen when Fehr and Bettmann poke around. Its almost like they were mad that things went smoothly without them so they had to mess it up.

Fehr has done a good job brain-washing them.
I agree with post earlier... I'm sure he's saying its a horrible offer (even if they got most of what they want), I'm sure his new claim is "WE HAD 57%... WE ARE GETTING NOTHING FROM THIS!!!"

What do you guys expect? Seriously.
The players hired Fehr for a reason. He's not going to sit there and let the owners take everything from the players. What do you expect?

I think it's just as stupid on the owners' part at this point to say no to mediation when they've been coming closer on key issues as it is for the players not taking the supposed deal (which we don't really know outside of the basics).

Explains why Ryan Miller was apparently screaming in one meeting.

And saying "Lololol Fehr's having a hissy fit" is?
And what's so bad about what I said. There's a reason the players hired Fehr. If you don't like it, tough ****.

I picture Ryan Miller acting like that "Leaving Brittney Alone" guy a few years ago.

It's inconsequential to me. But these players are losing money. If the whole season is lost, most are losing millions of dollars they'll never recover. How smart is that, hehe.
