They also used to have a mention on the scrolling ticker that would say "You wouldn't know if it wasn't for the bottom line." They used to mention a lot of early ECHL stuff on it. Nowadays you're lucky if you see any NHL mentioned on the bottom line, so ECHL would just be out of the question.

I wonder if they'll get rid of the bottom line soon. How many people don't know scores before they come up, with smart phones and everything?

My favorite online hat vendor went out of business. Apparently, that was caused by the fact that the company that custom-made the bulk of their products for them (Biltmore Hats of Guelph, Ontario) closed up after more than 100 years. Well, that sucks.

I do own several Stetsons, but I prefer slightly wider brims on my dress hats (we’re talking about fedoras, not cowboy hats), and Stetson’s dress hats really don’t come any wider than 2 5/8". Also, Miller Hats (the store that closed) and Biltmore offered multiple unique C-crown fedoras, with different crown heights, different pinches, etc. The only hat that Stetson makes that really fits my tastes is the Chatham, and I already own two of them in brown and gray.

Biltmore’s closure is slightly hockey related, as they appear in one of the competing origins of the term “hat trick.”

Anyone see army's uniforms for tomorrow's game? They feature maps from the Battle of the bulge and a spade for the 101st airborne

I have no problem with the concept itself, but I'll agree that it's no longer a primary way of people finding out scores. If I'm watching a game and they flash the score of a division rival that isn't on TV, cool.

My problem with it is that a)the size of the ticker itself keeps getting bigger. So not only is the ticker taller, they now have a spacer under it so it doesn't sit on the bottom of the screen. b) the amount of info they try to cram into the ticker. For the longest time it was nothing but scores, then they started scrolling the schedule. Then it got to the point where they started streaming some headlines. Now they're recapping innings and final moments of a game (happens regularly when the Yankees play.)

Maybe I should just pick up my phone if I need a score. :)

I find that on average brunettes have a better "back round" than Blondes and I believe its due to ethnicity in their genes

:face: did I really type out "back round" When I meant background
