Gutless move by the AP to release the name of the Arizona winner when he wanted to remain anonymous.

He was granted his request of anonymity when he cashed in, but Arizona keeps records of that kind of thing, so the AP filed to get the records from Arizona, and therefore release the guy's name.

Agreed. I read that earlier today and thought the same thing. Now every tom dick and harry will be calling this guy who just wanted to be left alone. He should be able to sue for something.

It will be fun figuring out which charities to donate $175,050,000 to.

If I were going to donate any of it, i'd be donating like 300 million of it. I don't think I could find a way to spend 50 million the rest of my life.

I can easily see this thing hitting $600-625m by tomorrow evening. People do stupid ish with their money when the PB gets this high.

I threw a $10 spot in yesterday. Nothing too crazy, but it's a lot more than I usually spend on a single drawing.

fixt

Isn't funny how some folks will spend more on lottery tickets than they'll donate to a charity?

(not directed at Kovy, just an observation)

The odds of winning money by donating to a charity are even less than this Powerball thing... :slug:

Each state uses the proceeds differently. In PA, yes.

what proceeds there are anyway.

Don't know if mentioned, but California just joined powerball recently. So you're gonna see a lot of jackpots this size.
