Finally found a download link for a podcast set that a friend of mine was the featured DJ of the month. To me, the 2 hour sets are perfect music for my drives home, long runs (whenever my next one is, idk), or like this morning when there's nothing on TV and I just want something for background sound.

I'm pretty sure they take other stuff you listen to and throw it on random stations. It's happened to me before.

Though I definitely don't have a Coldplay station, and have gotten Coldplay on Metallica Radio and Heavy Metal as well.

That's the way Faction has been lately. The "action sports" channel is supposed to be punk and hip-hop, but they've been playing a lot of Motley Crue and GnR lately. I wouldn't consider either to be my favorite band but there are a few songs that I do like, but if I wanted to hear those bands I'd scroll down three channels to boneyard or whatever the 80s metal channel is.

I'm always listening to "vintage" countdown shows on Sirius and other places to hear stuff that was popular in the past that I might have missed. Couple weeks ago they had a "60s One-Hit Wonders" countdown on 60s on 6. Heard the following 2 songs (I think the first is great and the second -today- just short of awful but I get the attraction to the precursor to synths in 1962). I was following along and doing some research. Both of these were produced by a guy named Joe Meek in his flat studio in London. He had a lot of success in England in the early-mid 60s but just these two here. Talk about your eccentric geniuses. The last video is an hour long but found it informative and entertaining.

For those of you who dig Northern Mississippi Hill Country blues (R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough), slide guitar, the North Mississippi All Stars, or early Black Keys, I've had the pleasure of touring with this duo, opening shows and occasionally trying not to mess up too badly on bass and rhythm guitar. This is a live recording from Lafayette, Louisiana with John Troutman of The Mendoza Line and Lil' Band of Gold sitting in on pedal steel. The vocals can be a bit rough, but the kid's 22 and has somehow only been playing for around 3 years.

Looking for musical misfits (30 to 45) to collaborate on making music. I've been playing guitar since 1981, and actually made a living at it for awhile. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I've been out of the game for about 4 years, but I can't help but want to continue to play and create with other like minded creative types. I've been in a bunch of bands playing many different types of music, but I think my forte would be Alternative/Heavy/Punk/New Wavey/Weird/Rock.
I was a member of The Breeders, and the Punk band FEAR for a long time, but again, I like all kinds of music. The Weirder, the better!!!

I really enjoyed the Rush documentary that is shown on the Palladium channel.
They all seem like the kind of dude, who you'd like to have as your next door neighbor.

More importantly, Randy Newman (about time) and Public Enemy have been inducted. Then again, who really cares about the R'n'R Hall of Fame.
