It is just basic genetics. As with all other evolutionary creatures humans have certain things we carry with us from our former special ancestors that don't fit well with our domesticated lifestyle.

Do you guys think that there is something that is inherently coded in a person's being that causes them to be a complete a-hole/d-bag/any other letter followed by a word you want to use or is it something that is taught? Also, do you think the definition of being a jerk has changed over time and things that today are considered rude may not be considered as such 10-15 years from now?

Eh it's a little of both. For example in the animal kingdom there are species who are simply more aggressive than others, different breeds of dogs for example. With the countless variations of humans on this planet some are for sure more prone to being "d-bags" than others. There is also a learned part. As usual with the nature vs. nurture argument the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
