It is currently Carolina Panthers 31 and the San Diego Chargers................................ZERO!!!

You know I love the Steelers to death, but sometimes I wish I can punch them all right square in the jaw for how they play. Carolina is 4-9 and their making Mincemeat out of the team that kicked our ass at home last week.

Sigh.

So Simms just made a comment that "no one is talking about Denver's defense". I would argue that everyone is talking about everyone not talking about Denver's defense. In fact, every time Denver is discussed, their D is brought up.

Yeah they are, and like you discussed, its about their defense not being talked about. This has been goign on since November at least. It is Simms though...and may be Simms every time. Definitely though, everyone knows about their Defense.

I don't mean to be insensitive, and not to take any significance from this tragedy whatsoever, but I turned NBC on to watch football.

Terrible throw by Brady but a great effort on the tackle to save 7 points.

Question for you Skullie: Why are you a 49ers fan? Do you have roots in the Bay Area or when you were little you watched a 49ers game and decided that was going to be your team for life.

Just curious.

My cousins were both 49ers fans when I was growing up, so I kind of latched on since everyone else was a Steelers fan. I know it's simple, but that's how it happened.

It's funny cause I'm diehard Pittsburgh sports in every other sport.

Not a bad reason to start following a certain club. I was the same way with the Celtics. When I was a kid, I saw a special on TV about Larry Bird and the 1980's Boston Celtics. Seeing guys like Bird, Parrish, McHale and Johnson preform on the court the way they did as a unit made me a Boston Celtics fan for life.

I started following at the very end of the Montana era, and the beginning of the Young era, so it was a good time to latch on. Went through some awful years the past 8 or so prior to last year, but it all goes in cycles.

49ers leaving way too many points on the board after being given short fields to work with.

It was. The team won a SB title in 1994 and was still very competitive for the remainder of the 90's. Yeah it seems like it started to go downhill for the 49ers when Eddie DeBartolo gave up ownership of the team to his sister early in the 2000s (who from I read never had the same passion about the team that her brother had). Now that her son is running the team now things are getting better for the team, espically when they then got Harbaugh as coach.

Is there ever any doubt that New England will win? Of course, they're still down 7, but even when they were down huge at the half, my mind is programmed to think their offense will cut through any D.

No doubt. His distribution is unreal. Someone on here continually calls him overrated. I think he shook any notion of that at least 5 years ago.
