When Landis explains why SUperman sucks it's one of the better comic/nerd rage things I've seen.

while xmas shopping on amazon last week i bought superman 2, the richard donner cut, for a buck on hd-dvd.

if youre a superman fan you need to see it. go ahead and look it up online. the troubled production that led to a director change is interesting and so is the history of the cut itself.

If you like the movie Payback, DO NOT watch the directors cut. Usually that cut is a bit better, maybe a bit longer. This is just terrible. It's a totally different movie and it sucks...

Just finished watching the movie Trouble with the Curve.. I thought it was a bit sappy, but since it had Clint Eastwood in it it was pretty good.

Of course no movie I watches ever compares with my all time favorite movie: The Shawshank Redemption.

Yeah I feel like Payback is very underrated. That flick is good stuff all around. Love the holding the suitcases scene.

man of steel trailer got me on a major superman kick. i bought all the hd-dvds on amazon and finished returns tonight.

i cant put my finger on why exactly, but i dont really love any of these movies. i think a large part of it is luther being too cartoonish for me. superman returns follows the formula of sequel as a remake. where the writers rehash every character, plot device, and antagonist.

michael shannon is playing the villan in man of steel. hes been in boardwalk empire, take shelter, pearl harbor, bad boys 2. i hope it helps dc gain some footing.

dc/warner just bug me the bejesus out of me. they own all the characters, but they cant cohesively put them together the way marvel is doing. with the dark knight trilogy as a sort of guide for the new superman movie(s), they should have followed that lead with green lantern too. he is more similar to most marvel characters. he should have existed in christopher nolans universe. it looks like man of steel very much will so it will be interesting to see where the others fit in. green lantern and batman reboots are apparently underway. id have liked to see jgl's blake play batman or possibly nightwing. that would allow them to keep making batman movies but to not have to remake films.

Yup. That scene isn't in the directors cut.

Sleepwalk With Me.

Pretty good. Had that very indie/new-school Woody Allen vibe. I like the story more, however.

I really enjoyed it. Pretty clever, had some funny stuff, and good action. I could, however, go the rest of my life without seeing Tom Cruise with his shirt off
