Everybody loves Malkin. It's gotta be tied to his awesome personality.

I was looking to see if they might play it outdoors like they did in Moscow a few years ago, but it's -28 F or something right now. So probably going to be an indoor game.

Chris Johnston @reporterchris
Evgeni Malkin was named the KHL's top forward for December. Sergei Gonchar was top defenceman and Karri Ramo was top goalie
Go Gene & Sergei!

Mark Madden would disagree with you...
Anyways congrats to Geno. Very happy for him that he won.

I feel bad for all the out of shape NHL defensemen that will have to keep up with Geno*.

It looks like half of that all-star team will be no shows at Chelyabinsk.

Almost wondering if the Potter will stick around to play the ASG in his hometown.

I'm not a Genophobe by any means, but does it bug anyone else that Geno's not coming back until late Saturday/early Sunday? I'd think he'd want to get here Thursday or Friday at the latest just to give himself time to overcome the jet lag.

Nit pick much? He has been playing games so conditioning is not really an issue for him.

My post was about jet lag, not conditioning. Two different things.

He's a professional athlete who travels a lot as is. You'd think he'd be able to get over jet lag in a week.

Undoubtedly. But during that week he'll be learning new wrinkles to the system, and most likely learning the habits of one new linemate, in order to be at his best for a regular season game. I'm sure he'll be fine, but Tyler Glass was complaining today about his jet lag, and he got back from Slovakia on Sunday. I guess I was hoping to see more Sid-like intensity.

I would say we can trust the Art Ross and Hart Trophy winner to be ready for game 1.
