What did Tomlinson do exactly? :pop:

Either autocorrect or more likely poor multi tasking by me haha. (Fantasy team is in championship game)

This team didn't deserve to make the playoffs. Even if they had snuck in they'd have been demolished by their first opponent.

Couldn't agree more, but what sports am I suppose to watch now? If they had won it would at least have given me some sports to be interested in for a couple weeks. Oh well, I am expecting some video games for Christmas.

Also, dissapointed that the Steelers couldn't win this - but sometimes it's ok to just watch some NFL playoffs, without being a nervous wreck.

Disagree. He beat the Ravens and that should be his last game.

Betcha they'll both be back next year.

Yep. People forget that Cowher missed the playoffs for three years straight and didn't get canned.

True. I'm glad to see them sucking so bad because it means 1) they'll get a higher draft pick; and 2) they won't be at all reluctant to clean house and get rid of underperformers.

Did the roster even sniff the talent on this one? This team should not be missing the playoffs.

Haley could get fired since the offense played worse than last year or seemed too and there have been reports all year of Ben not liking him. Tomlin is here until Dan Rooney is no longer involved with the team.

I'm guessing they give Haley at least one more year. The Steelers don't usually let a coach go after one year. (except special teams coach) And yeah, Tomlin is set for awhile.

Thumbs up to Maurkice Pouncey & other steelers; you don't leave your QB alone on the bridge :
"It's not just all on Ben," Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey said. "It's not like he was out there by himself."
Roethlisberger appreciated the support, but he knew better

This year's steelers below mediocre. Efficiency on 3rd down non existent- last half of the season and the D, some/most games, couldn't get teams off of the field. They need to say some farewells to long time folks and reload. I wouldn't be surprise to see Dick LeBeau go, but somebody smart will pick him up.

Bengals, never cleve-balt ravens , get my ugh, support for the play-offs.

This season was bad enough with Heath, can't imagine how bad it would have been without him. Hopefully he will be ready to go next season. He will have 10 months to recover.

I feel a dry spell coming, this will be a big test for Tomlin.

Tomlin is a good motivational coach, IMHO, not so much with X's and O's.

Trying to use his assets (or what few assets he has) effectively will really expose his coaching weaknesses, again IMHO

Agreed. Seems like a guy most players want to play for, but this season there seems to be some bad playcalling. Some of that could go back on Haley being unfamiliar with the team, but overall (and especially with his botch of not going for 2 in the SD game) his playcalling doesn't exactly stand out.

I wouldn't blame any future (or current) dry spell too much on the coaching staff. You can only do so much with a washed up (or rebuilding) roster.

Doesn't the coaching staff have input to personel decisions? Or am I wrong?

Yeah, the Steelers roster has been getting old for the last several years. Even after their last SB win, it was readily apparent that much of the roster (especially defense) was in the sunset of their career. There are bound to be some lean years.

They have drafted rather poorly in the Tomlin era outside of Pouncey and maybe DeCastro
